\"Image<\/a>Our aim\u00a0is to\u00a0MAP the huge variety of projects and proposals working towards\u00a0economic reform. \u00a0“The Map” aims to help newcomers to find\u00a0existing projects, rather than duplicating effort, and\u00a0encourage those already involved to\u00a0collaborate with\u00a0others.\u00a0This is a participative process, with academics, practitioners and activists contributing their knowledge. As pages are added, and the concepts tagged, a\u00a0word\u00a0map will build. \u00a0Meanwhile, our initial analysis indicated three\u00a0basic approaches\u00a0(the original inspiration for the MAP acronym):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M<\/span><\/b>= MITIGATION<\/a>:<\/p>\n

This covers projects for relief of\u00a0poverty \u00a0that can operate\u00a0within the current economic system, and which compensate for its\u00a0injustices, for example all forms of charity, including food banks.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

A<\/span><\/b>= ALTERNATIVES<\/a><\/p>\n

These projects are also\u00a0 allowable within the current economic system, and may therefore run in parallel with the mainstream, but with the possibility of growing and complementing it.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

P<\/span><\/b>= POLlTICS<\/a><\/p>\n

These proposals tackle the fundamentals\u00a0of the economic\u00a0system, and may\u00a0require legislative\u00a0change and\/or global co-operation to bring\u00a0about major structural reforms.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
